Ardent Privacy is pleased to announce [Ramakant Mohapatra](https://www.linkedin.com/in/ramakant-mohapatra/?ref=ardentprivacy.ai) as Strategic Advisor – Privacy, Security and AI Governance. His association marks an important step in strengthening Ardent Privacy’s commitment to helping organizations build effective privacy programs, strengthen data protection practices, and establish accountable AI governance frameworks.

With extensive experience spanning data privacy, cybersecurity, enterprise risk, regulatory compliance, privacy engineering, and digital transformation, Ramakant brings a practitioner-led perspective to the evolving challenges organizations face as they navigate regulatory requirements, manage sensitive information, and adopt emerging technologies.

### Bringing Deep Experience in Privacy, Security and Governance

Ramakant Mohapatra is a recognized leader in data privacy and governance, with more than 28 years of global enterprise leadership experience. His professional background encompasses privacy strategy, information security, enterprise risk management, privacy engineering, regulatory compliance, and digital transformation.

In recognition of his contributions to the privacy profession, he was named India’s Privacy Leader of the Year 2023 by DSCI/NASSCOM. He is also a Fellow of Information Privacy (FIP) with the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) and an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore.

His experience in translating complex regulatory and technical requirements into structured, actionable initiatives brings valuable perspective to organizations seeking to integrate privacy and security into their business operations.

### Advancing Practical Data Privacy and Regulatory Readiness

As data protection regulations evolve across jurisdictions, organizations must move beyond policy documentation to establish operational privacy programs supported by clear accountability, appropriate controls, and measurable processes.

Ramakant’s role as Strategic Advisor will bring additional strategic perspective to the privacy and security challenges organizations encounter, including:

- **Privacy strategy and governance:** Strengthening privacy management practices and embedding data protection into organizational decision-making.
- **Regulatory readiness:** Helping organizations interpret applicable data protection obligations and translate them into practical implementation priorities.
- **Security and risk management:** Aligning data protection measures with business risks, regulatory exposure, and organizational requirements.
- Privacy engineering and data governance: Encouraging privacy-by-design practices and appropriate controls throughout the data lifecycle.
- **AI governance:** Advancing structured approaches to responsible AI adoption, risk oversight, and governance as organizations increasingly integrate AI into business processes.

These areas are particularly relevant as organizations prepare for India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA), and address their obligations under other applicable data protection and AI governance frameworks.

### Supporting the Next Phase of DPDPA Implementation

India's [DPDP Act](https://www.ardentprivacy.ai/india-digital-personal-data-protection-act/) has brought renewed attention to consent management, Data Principal Rights, personal data processing, security safeguards, and organizational accountability. Effective implementation requires coordination across legal, technology, security, compliance, and business teams.

Through this strategic association, Ardent Privacy aims to strengthen its engagement with organizations working to translate DPDPA requirements into practical, sustainable privacy operations.

Ramakant’s experience across privacy leadership, consulting, governance, and enterprise implementation will be valuable in addressing the operational considerations involved in establishing privacy programs. These include understanding personal data flows, prioritizing risks, defining responsibilities, and aligning governance practices with organizational needs.

Ardent Privacy’s [TurtleShield](https://www.ardentprivacy.ai/products/) suite of data privacy and AI governance solutions is designed to help enterprises operationalize these efforts through capabilities such as data discovery, privacy assessments, consent management, Data Principal Rights Management, data minimization, and AI governance.

The combination of practitioner-led perspectives and technology-enabled workflows can help organizations establish more structured and scalable approaches to privacy management.

### The Importance of Connecting Privacy, Security and AI Governance

Privacy, cybersecurity, and AI governance increasingly intersect in modern enterprises. Organizations must understand the personal data they process, protect it against unauthorized access and misuse, and establish appropriate oversight as AI systems and data-driven applications become more prevalent.

Addressing these areas in isolation can create gaps in accountability and implementation. An integrated approach helps organizations align their privacy objectives, security controls, risk management practices, and AI governance priorities.

Ramakant’s strategic association with Ardent Privacy reinforces the importance of connecting these disciplines and applying governance principles to real-world enterprise requirements.

### Looking Ahead

Ardent Privacy looks forward to working with Ramakant Mohapatra as the company continues to advance its work in data privacy automation, regulatory readiness, security, and AI governance.

His experience and strategic perspective will contribute to ongoing efforts to help organizations make privacy an integral part of business operations, strengthen accountability, and adopt technology with appropriate governance.

**Welcome to Ardent Privacy, Ramakant Mohapatra. We look forward to the journey ahead.**
